The garment has been specially designed so that it can be cleaned under the shower head with no soaking, dry cleaning - or even soap. Apparently the company has already received 170,000 orders from Japan for the suit designed to appeal to busy corporate men.
- A 16-year-old schoolgirl, who has become Britain's youngest qualified pilot. The girl passed her flying test at the end of August, but must wait until her birthday next week to be handed a private pilot's licence as 17 is the minimum age.
- The world's oldest man, who celebrated his 113th birthday. The Japanese man, Tomoji Tanabe, recognised by the Guinness Book of World Records as the oldest living male, eats mostly vegetables and believes the key to longevity is not drinking alcohol. The Japanese are among the world's longest-lived people. Japanese women have topped the world's longevity ranks for 23 years, while men rank third after Iceland and Hong Kong.
